"One cannot inherit a talent for the violin, there are no violins in nature. Instead, one must be motivated, able to benefit from practice, and persevering."

THE VIOLIN
Due to the size and simplicity of the violin children as young as 3 years can begin lessons (but are evaluated for readiness) then continue to grow their skills as they get older switching to the Viola. Our excellent teachers works with each student every step of the way sharing their expertise. New students have the choice between the Viola and Violin but we recommend young beginners start practicing on the Violin then proceed to the Viola, which is a slightly larger and lower pitched Violin, but the required techniques and playing styles are nearly identical.
There are many benefits of learning how to play the violin which is why it is such a popular instrument all over the world, being played by individuals of all types of ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds. The glamor and awe is great when it comes to admiration of the violin but many are intimidated buy what is essentially as wooden box with 4 strings. Individuals doubt their ability to learn and play this instrument thinking it is too expensive and difficult which is not true. All that is really required is the right tools, instructions and dedication for a student to see their potential! All of our violin lessons are tailored for the students age group, as they are paired with one of the excellent teachers on staff, experienced in the Suzuki or traditional teaching method. The major difference in these teaching methods is the Suzuki technique goes in the direction of not needing to read music until 2-3 years after lessons begins which is the opposite of traditional teaching methods. the chosen method is something that can be decided between student and teacher.
