Lessons For All Ages

It does not matter what age you are, music is something flowing through us all. There are many benefits  It can be used a way to unite those with us to break language barriers, conveys a sense of pride for ourselves and nationality. We proudly offer music lessons for kids and adults because we believe there is no age barrier for music These days much music is made using sound generators in a music studio but nothing connects us more to and artist and their music like the manipulation of a instrument to produce a melody. This ability to produce this melody can be taught to people of all age groups and backgrounds. We have taught students as young as 4 years old to play the bongo drums in groups or strum a ukulele with others to teach valuable life skills like cooperation, coordination and communications. Individuals suffering from mental illnesses of some form have found music to be a rather therapeutic hobby, a way to temporarily break away from life and consume yourself in something beautiful. Our elderly clients enjoy working with smaller drums and the piano/ keyboard.

Benefits of Music Lessons

The benefits to having music lessons are vast and deep, some have and some have already been briefly been mentioned. Above all, becoming proficient is music not matter the instrument is something one can use anytime in their life as a creative outlet, therapy or way of communication. The ability to read, play, write and have a  deep understanding of music transcends this just being a skill. Music becomes embedded in one's life, if they choose it to be

Many of the parents who sign their children up for music lessons don't do so because they want their child to become a professional musician but because they want to teach the child valuable lessons in discipline, maturity, grit, endurance, fortitude, pain, sacrifice, etc; Lesson you just cant get from school. Lesson you can not learn from a math or English class. Lesson you can not get from that twice a week music period in school. Lesson you can not get from a teacher focused on wrangling kids boisterous kids with the attention span of a goldfish!

More Benefits of Music

Picture
Discipline is the number on reason parents choose to enroll a child in music lessons, as it teaches from a young age that something worth doing and doing well, will take some patience and sacrifice to get right. the first couple of weeks may just be lessons on how to read music and hold the instrument. The viral sensation will decrease over time but in the long run, with discipline of consistent practice, learning from failure, enjoying success will be worth it.

Picture
An improvement motor skills and muscle development for as you are playing music it requires your entire body to generate a rhythm and maintain it as one plays a tune. Most instruments require coordination between two or body parts for example arm+legs on drums, arms+fingers on violins and lungs+fingers on wind instruments. One thing they all require is constant use of the eyes and brain.

Picture
One is able to improve their social skills especially when playing in a group. Group play is something we push when we teaching our students, especially for recital preparation. Students can learn coordination, patience, CONFIDENCE, tolerance while working with their peers to get better while working towards a common goal, just like being on a sports team.

Picture
The concept of culture is more easily understood as we teach our students musical themes from other countries on the instrument they are practicing. The guitar for example, is played in various ways in different countries as strumming, fingering and chord techniques vary as differ net sounds are trying to be achieved. You would be amazed at the ways other people can tune and manipulate the same instrument! LIKE THIS

MUSIC MAKES YOU HAPPY! Not only does it make you happy but it makes everyone else happy also. Even if someone playing a sad song or playing below their abilities it makes people happy for connection and inspiration. Music touches people more than you know, it may be watching a child hitting a piano key for the first time or watching an orchestra seamlessly execute symphony of sounds, but it WILL make you happy :)

Picture
Music makes you smarter as scientists have concluded that children who learn and instrument achieve at higher levels academically in all forms. GPA's are better, ACT scores are more competitive, math skills are stronger, reading comprehension is at a high level and students have a greater ability to recall and retain information. This benefit not only helps kids but people of all ages.

Picture
Language skills are built as one plays music because the ears are trained to recall, understand and recall different sounds while becoming accustomed to them at the same time. This is the same with language like the differences between someone speaking Japanese or Mandarin. Would you be able to tell who is speaking what?

Picture
Self-Confidence is greatly improved as one gets better at playing an instrument, and that confidence continues to grow in all aspect of ones life when the skill is further perfected. Who wouldn't love the result of dazzling melodies and increased confidence as the byproduct of consistent musical practice?

Picture
An increased IQ level has also been scientifically proven to be a result of music lessons even after only several weeks or moths of practice. The study of music had shown to make the brain more elastic ( adaptable) and some areas of the brains has even been shown to grow in size and activity levels!

Why Have Be Your Teacher

Choosing the right music teacher can make or break your experience with learning to read and play music. Not all music teachers work with all types of students as some focus on non-experienced students while others may only tutor students wishing to play a specific instrument at a higher level. Other music teachers may just be doing it as a part time gig to make some money for paying the bills and may not have the necessary experience with students who need a little more attention and patience to grow. As a trusted committee musical education service we can cater to beginner, novice or advanced students to help them along their musical career. We offer a complimentary introductory music lesson for kids and adults allowing families to observe to see if we are the best fit for them. Many of our teachers are able to teach more than one instrument so we are very flexible with our capabilities to give proper instruction in any event.

ASK US YOUR QUESTIONS!
We would love to answer any questions you may have about our practices as not every student teacher relationship will be right so we want to ensure everyone is happy once the teaching starts. Just as you will have expectations of us, we also have expectations of our students as well because the music lessons continue after class is over, with homework assignments ranging from a required amount of practice hours, creative compositions, written assignments, mandatory recital participation with other short-term and long-term goals.

Our staff consists of professional musicians, graduates of musical studies, music teachers with decades of experience and more so we are more than very confident we have what you are looking for!

INSTRUMENTS WE TEACH STUDENTS OUR STUDENTS

Guitar

Black kid playing the acoustic guitar
The guitar hails from a long linage of string instruments with its origins tracing back to the earliest form of the Banjo and ever farther back Eastern and Central Africa. There are many levels of guitar competency and we can get you to wherever you want to go. You may be wanting to master the classical acoustic guitar or want realize your dream of becoming the lead guitarist in a rock band, we can still get you there but the outfit selections will be left up to you. Range of guitar styles are vast because it is one of the few instruments that allows the musicians to vocalize and play at the same time. Once a student has made it past the beginner phase of their lessons we then begin focusing on the specific style of music they want to purse, even though some styles are more difficult than others we are always here to provide guidance

Piano

black and white photo of child o the paino
Probably the easiest instrument to learn yet the most difficult to master, requiring coordination between both hands, both feet, vocalizing and know the difference between 88 keys. With our piano lessons your master teacher will put an early emphasis on learning to read and have a fundamental understanding of music sheets because this is the foundation of all music; it opens the doors for students to begin expressing themselves artistically composing pieces and developing their technical skills. Many parents encourage their children to develop their piano skills for a host of reason, some include improving balanced brain development, giving the child a creative outlet or a skill they can rely on as they get older. Everyone has a hobby or activity to relieve stress but some us want one that makes us and others fell good.

String Instruments

young female in home playing the violin
String instruments come in various forms and sizes like the Violin, Cello, double bass, fiddle and more. Once you learn the basic techniques of one, it is much easier to switch to another as they all use the same general principle. Typically a bowed (or plucked) 4 string hollow body of wooden construction these instruments are an integral part of any orchestra symphony in order to get the required low or high pitch for a balanced sound. Violins are the smallest and highest pitched instrument while the double bass is the larger and lowest pitched. We recommend younger students wanting to learn these instruments start with the violin then as they become older, proficient with reading, understanding and composing music make the decision to transition.

Percussion

guy in a carpeted bedroom playing a drumset
An incredible drum solo can create emotions so deep and primal we get lost in the deep dramatic sound of it all. Clean well executed bongo drum session can cleanse the soul, becoming a form of meditation for some individuals. Our students wanting to play the drums can start young (but are evaluated for readiness) and will learn all the different styles of drumming from classical to Jazz to Rock and Roll . The drums are the most physical of the instruments because the strength at which one strikes any component of the kit (snare, bass, tom, etc) will determine the sounds tone and how it melds with the next not being played. Too hard or too soft and the rhythm is is lost making it harder to pick up making muscle control an important aspect of becoming a great drummer.
